Dry Fog Treatment in Austin (Pure Maintenance)

Pure Maintenance uses a patented dry fog system that turns its treatment solutions into a very fine, dry mist. The mist fills the home so it reaches every room, closet, crack and crevice, and the inside of the HVAC ductwork, places that manual cleaning misses.

The treatment has two steps:

1. A dry fog. A solution of hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid that breaks down into water, oxygen and a trace of vinegar. It helps control odor-causing microbes on hard, non-porous surfaces and temporarily reduces airborne particulates as the fog settles.
2. A surface protectant. A second product applied to treated hard surfaces after the fog.

Pure Maintenance calls the goal reducing the bio-load: the microscopic particles and microbes that build up in a home’s air, on its surfaces and in its HVAC system over time. The droplets are so small that they stay suspended and spread through the space rather than soaking surfaces. A dry fog treatment is an indoor air quality treatment for the whole home. Common reasons homeowners book one:

• Stale or persistent odors, after the source has been found and fixed
• Homes with pets, or homes where smells linger after a deep clean

• Rental and short-term rental properties between guests or tenants

A dry fog treatment is one part of a plan, not a cure-all:

• It doesn’t fix moisture. A clogged AC drain, sweating ducts or high humidity have to be corrected first.
• It doesn’t repair damaged materials. Drywall, insulation or duct materials that are wet, rotted or damaged need to be repaired or replaced.

• Treatment day: the dry fog treatment is done in one day. People and pets stay out while the treatment runs.
• Afterward: the home stays empty for 2 to 4 hours to air out, then you move back in the same day.
