How Build Your System Works

Build Your System is an online HVAC replacement estimator for homes in Austin and Central Texas. Choose a gas furnace, a heat pump or a dual fuel system, pick an efficiency tier, a thermostat and indoor air quality add-ons, and see an estimate for your exact build in about two minutes. It is built by Gold Eagle Services, a family-run Austin HVAC company since 2017 (TACLA119235), and our local team reviews every build and confirms the final price at an in-home visit.

Most HVAC companies ask “what kind of system do you have?” and then make you wait for a salesperson to tell you a price. Build Your System works the other way around: you design the system yourself, watch it come together on a live diagram of your home, and see an estimate at the end. It takes about two minutes, and you don’t need to share any personal information to build.

Step by step

Pick where your indoor unit lives. Choose Attic Horizontal (the unit lies on its side above the ceiling, the most common setup in Austin) or Closet Upflow (the unit stands upright in a closet or hallway). This sets up the diagram for your home.
The Basics. Tell us what type of indoor unit you want (for example a gas furnace or an electric air handler), whether your home has fiberglass or spray foam insulation.
The Engine. Tell us whether you need a new supply plenum (the box that connects the unit to your ducts), choose an efficiency tier, from the federal minimum up to high-efficiency SEER2 equipment, and decide between a heat pump (dual fuel) or a straight-cool air conditioner.
Comfort. Pick a thermostat and any indoor air quality add-ons, such as air purification, UV protection, dehumidification or fresh-air ventilation. Every choice appears on the diagram as you make it, and optional steps can be skipped.
See your full build. Review every component in one place. Use the season buttons to preview how your system runs in summer cooling and winter heating, with airflow and temperatures on the diagram. Tap Edit on anything to change it.

How long does it take to replace an AC system?

Many straightforward replacements are finished in a day. Jobs that include new ductwork, electrical upgrades or a change of system type can take longer. We confirm the timeline after the in-home visit.

Should I replace my AC and furnace at the same time?

Often it makes sense, especially when both are aging. A matched system works as designed, and higher-efficiency equipment usually needs matching indoor and outdoor components. If your furnace is newer and in good shape, replacing only the AC can be fine, and a heat pump is another option that replaces both with one system.

Is a heat pump or an air conditioner better for Austin?
