Most Asked Questions
Our standard service call is $79. Online specials may be lower; mention the offer when you book.
Same day when the schedule allows. We run calls Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm.
A tech inspects, cleans and tests the system: refrigerant levels, electrical parts, airflow and overall performance. The aim is to catch a weak capacitor or a clogged drain line before it quits in July.
We cover the greater Austin area and nearby towns. Not sure you’re in range? Check our Service Areas page or just ask.
It comes down to the system’s age, condition and repair cost. We walk you through both options so you can choose what makes sense for your home and budget.

Austin Homeowners Ask
Usually about 10 to 15 years. An Austin AC runs from spring well into fall, logging more hours than most systems in the country, which is why maintenance matters more here.
Yes. We service and repair all major brands of air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces, and we are a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor for ductless mini-splits.
Moisture the AC isn't removing. An oversized system short-cycles, shutting off before it pulls the moisture out, and a dirty coil leaves moisture behind too. A whole home dehumidifier or a correctly sized system usually fixes it.
Yes. A tune-up before summer and before winter catches a weak part or a clogged drain before it becomes a breakdown on the hottest or coldest day of the year. Our Home Maintenance Plans include both visits.
Our Homeowner Guides and Resource Center are free and written for Central Texas houses, not houses in general.
AC & Heating Repairs
Usually low refrigerant (which means a leak), a clogged filter, a thermostat problem or an electrical failure, such as a weak capacitor in the outdoor unit. Check the filter and thermostat first. If the air is still warm, call us and we’ll explain exactly what failed.
Usually restricted airflow (often a dirty filter), a thermostat problem or a system too big for the house. An oversized AC shuts off before it pulls the moisture out, leaving the house cool but clammy. Have it checked before the extra starts wear on the equipment.
All major HVAC brands and systems, whatever the builder or the last owner installed. See our Partners page for more.
If it’s past 10 to 15 years old and the repairs keep coming, replacement is often the better long-term call. We’ll help you weigh one more repair against a new system.
Maintenance & System Care
Twice a year: before summer for the cooling side and before winter for the heat.
Efficiency drops, energy bills climb and breakdowns get more likely, usually in the hottest stretch of summer, when you need the AC most.
Yes. Our Home Maintenance Plan keeps your system on a regular maintenance schedule year-round. See the Home Maintenance Plan page for what it includes, or ask us.
Indoor Air Quality
Dust that returns soon after cleaning, uneven airflow, lingering odors, or a house that feels muggy with the AC running. We can assess your air and recommend fixes.
Yes, when installed properly. A good purifier reduces the dust and other particles moving through your home’s air.
Weak filtration, leaky ducts or airflow problems. A leaky return duct in an Austin attic can pull dusty attic air straight into the system. We’ll find the source.
Installation & System Replacement
It depends on your home’s size, the type of system and the efficiency level. For a starting point, build your system online and see pricing for the options you pick. After we look at your home in person, we give you straightforward final pricing with no surprises.
In many cases, yes. Newer systems are more efficient and use less energy, especially when they replace a system that is older or struggling.
Yes. We offer financing through Wisetack to make a system replacement easier to manage. See the available plans on our Financing page.
It depends on your home’s layout, insulation and square footage. We size each system to the house: too big and it leaves the house clammy, too small and it can’t keep up in August.
Our crew arrives on time, removes the old system, installs and tests the new one, and leaves your home clean. Most of the work happens in the attic, where most Austin air handlers live. Before we leave, we show you how everything works.
