Pure's Scan File for issue 6: WHAT: Sticky air. Air holding too much water. WHERE: The whole house, and most of all the bathroom after a long shower. WHY NOW: Your AC pulls water out of the air, but only when it runs long and steady. A fan left ON blows the water on the coil back into the house. Steamy showers with the fan off add more. THE FIX: Fan on AUTO. A pro checks that the AC runs long enough to dry the air and can add a whole-home dehumidifier. Bathroom fans send steam outside. 7:00 AM

The morning after Heat Dome, Comfort City woke up… STICKY.

The thermostats said cool. Everything felt damp.

Pure: “Beep! Air too wet! It's rolling in from Steam Springs!”

Goldstrike: “Wing Force, let's roll!”

Muggie: “Hug!”

Talon: “Ew… it's sticky!”

Page 2

LAIR OF MONSOON: Steam Springs.

Monsoon: “Ahhh. The thermostat says cool. I say… sticky.”

The AC's cold COIL pulls water out of the air. Drip, drip.

Pure: “Beep! Water drips off the cold coil. Drier air comes out!”

Talon: “I can't see a thing!”

Monsoon: “Stay awhile…”

Goldstrike: “Airflow Shield!”

Page 3

Monsoon: “Ohhh, thank you, little bird. Now the water blows right back to me.”

Talon: “Fan ON! That'll blow the fog away!”

WHIRRRR!

Pure: “Beep! Fan always ON blows the water back into the air!”

Talon: “Talon's got a question! Where should the water go?”

Goldstrike: “Down the drain, not back in the air! Here's the plan. AUTO! DRY! VENT!”

Monsoon: “…Uh-oh.”

Monsoon: “Huh?!”

Talon: “AUTO! Fan rests, water drips down!”

Manny: “DRY! An AC can only pull out so much water! A dehumidifier does the rest!”

POP!

POP!

Pure: “VENT!”

Monsoon: “My cloak!”

WHOOOSH!

Goldstrike: “Water out. Fresh in!”

Monsoon: “…Yawn. Wake me when it's muggy.”

SUNSET

Every house in Comfort City felt fresh again.

Pure: “Beep! Fan on, steam out!”

Floodgate: “All that water has to go somewhere… and I'm the one who decides where.”
