8:00 AM

Heat Dome lowered his lid… and Comfort City started to BAKE.

Every AC ran and ran. The houses stayed warm.

Pure: “Beep! The heat is coming from Scorch Flats!”

Goldstrike: “Wing Force, let's roll!”

Glareling: “Shiny! Shiny! …Dizzy.”

Talon: “Ow, my eyes!”

LAIR OF HEAT DOME: The Blaze Yard.

Heat Dome: “Feel the heat! I've got all afternoon.”

The OUTSIDE UNIT's thin metal FINS were packed with gunk.

Pure: “Beep! An AC doesn't make cold. It carries heat OUT, and the outside unit blows it away!”

Talon: “Talon's got a question… how can it blow with all THAT in the way?”

Heat Dome: “BAKE!”

Goldstrike: “Airflow Shield!”

Page 3

Heat Dome: “A box? Thanks, buddy! Now the heat can't get OUT!”

Manny: “A shade box! That'll keep it cool!”

BANG! BANG!

Talon: “Talon's got a question! What does it need?”

Pure: “Beep! Room to breathe!”

Goldstrike: “Then here's the plan. ROOM! RINSE! SHADE!”

Heat Dome: “…Uh-oh.”

Page 4

Manny: “ROOM! Out you go, box!”

Talon: “Weeds, gone!”

Goldstrike: “Power OFF first. Then RINSE!”

SPLOOSH!

Pure and Talon: “SHADE!”

WHOOOSH!

Heat Dome: “My dome!”

Goldstrike: “Heat out. Cool in!”

Heat Dome: “…Yawn. I'll be back next July.”

SUNSET
