7:00 AM
A hot day in Comfort City. Every AC was running… but only a weak, warm puff came out.
Goldstrike: “Frostlock said the air wouldn't flow for long.”
Pure: “Beep! The cold is coming from the north!”
The frozen Copper Road led straight to an ice castle on Frostcap Hill.
Talon: “Nice skates!”

LAIR OF FROSTLOCK: The Ice Keep.
SWISH! SWISH!
Frostlock: “Welcome. When air stops moving, I grow. Thank you, Staticus.”
Pure: “Beep! The COIL is iced over! Hardly any air gets through!”
Goldstrike: “Ice… on a HOT day?”
Frostlock: “You can't fight the cold, little heroes.”
Goldstrike: “Watch us.”
Page 3
Goldstrike: “Coldest setting! That'll beat the heat faster!”
CLUNK!
Frostlock: “Colder? Don't mind if I DO!”
Goldstrike: “Turning it way down just made MORE ice.”
Manny: “Now we know. Happens to the best of us.”
Talon: “Talon's got a question! How did all this ice grow?”
Pure: “Beep! Not enough warm air over the coil… plus a LEAK!”
Goldstrike: “Then here's the plan. THAW! CLEAR! SEAL!”
HISSSSS!

Goldstrike: “Cooling OFF, fan ON!”
Manny: “THAW!”
DRIP DRIP DRIP
Talon: “CLEAR!”
Pure: “Fresh filter, open grille!”
Manny: “SEAL! No more leaks for you, Frosty!”
Goldstrike: “Ice in summer is a clue!”
Frostlock: “My ICE! …Fine. Air wins.”
SPLOOSH!

SUNSET
Every vent in Comfort City blew cool again.
Pure: “Beep! Popsicle status: perfect.”
Heat Dome: “Melt his ice? Cute. Let's see you beat the HEAT.”

Pure’s Scan File
- What
- A frozen coil. The coil is the cold part inside your AC.
- Where
- Inside the indoor unit, and sometimes as frost on the copper pipes outside.
- Why Now
- Not enough warm air over the coil (a dirty filter, a blocked return grille, shut vents) or a refrigerant leak lets it get too cold, so ice grows and blocks even more air.
- The Fix
- Cooling off, fan on, so the ice melts. Then a fresh filter and open vents. A pro finds and fixes any leak, then fills it just right.
- Your Hero Job
- Ice on the AC in summer? Don't touch it. Tell a grown-up!
